Photography Contest Participation for Global Environmental Protection

Photography Contest: Photos show the beauty of biodiversity, the resilience, and the ecosystems value. Partnering with Global Environmental Protection Photography Competition, the 500px community launches a contest. It is to submit photos to any of the six categories and to win a cash prize.

The works should be exhibited this November at the Global Environmental Protection.

Themes

  • Mammals – Mammals are the most adaptable animals found on every continent and in
oceans. Participants can show their unique characteristics by capturing these mammals in
    their natural habitat.
  • Reptiles + Amphibians- The nature of creatures living on water and land is fascinating
whether it is catching flies or hopping across leaves.
  • Insects- Insects survive longer to any terrestrial life. The photos capture the six-legged
friends; highlight unexpected beauty and their natural habitats.
  • Fungi + Plants- The unique ability of creating life in the nature show us the diversity of
fungi and plants in the wild.
  • Birds- The elegant animals are the birds and it is not easy to capture the birds while they
are running, flying, diving or jumping. Birds have their beaks, wings, feathers and create
    astonishing subjects.
  • Humans in Nature- It shows nature and people in harmony and includes humans through
    captivating landscapes.

The Editors vision

The need for editor’s vision is to have:

  • Sharp focus in subjects.
  • Expertise with natural light while working. Lighting plays the vital role in the wildlife
    photography.
  • Placement of elements within the frame to use the environment effectively.

Tips to Shooting

  • Protect the gear and yourself from elements.
  • Use right lens. If distance is required between the subject and you, you can get close by considering a telephoto lens. Use macro lens to get the best of the small subjects.
  • Work with fast animals, freeze in motion and your friend will be tripod.
  • Working with wildlife is essential doing a complete research on pre-shoot to understand the environment and its animals.
  • Animals scare easily and there is a need to be patient. So wait for the right moment and get low and press the shutter.
